SO I was doing some research on the forum and stumbled upon a thread that mentioned this website "amayama.com". Ive never heard of it, but in my infinite quest to find reasonably priced OEM parts, I figured I would check it out.

Holy crap!!!!!

$75 for a LBJ?!?! Canadian currency to boot, AND, they ship to Canada.

anyone have any reviews for me? Everything appears to be OEM parts from the part numbers and the pictures.

Yup, this site is fantastic for OEM parts if you can wait 2-4 weeks. I usually make a list of random parts I need and do a bulk order. Completely legit and no need to deal with overpriced local Canadian dealerships.
 
I been ordering parts from them since I got my 4runner. They have saved me hundreds of dollars so far. My parts get here in 7 days if I order on a Friday.

I tend to compare prices between Amayama and Amazon and order from which is cheaper. Sometimes Amazon has the better deal but that is rare.

I recently got everything for a rear axle seal rebuild (races, gear, seal, etc) for $90. Can't get it anywhere that cheap online.
 
I've bought lots of stuff from them, no problems. All genuine parts with the Toyota part number stickers on. Much easier than trying to source parts for a Japanese import through a local Toyota dealer here in the UK!

LBJ, UBJ, tie rod ends....sway bar bushings and links are new. What else?
 
I just placed my first order through Amayama at the end of September for steering rack guide parts. Amayama's price was about $66 vs $86 through an online Toyota parts store. Their tracking says it should be here sometime at the end of October/early November. $66 vs $86 isn't a huge savings but wanted to test Amayama out and see how everything goes.
 
My issue is getting the parts to Canada, at a decent cost.

My mom is actually headed down to the states in a few weeks, and I was going to have Camelback Toyota ship parts to the UPS store, and take my chances at the border. Well, they wont ship to the UPS store.

Now I foubd amayama.com, the prices are better than camelback, they ship to Canada, and its all OEM. Even if it takes 4 weeks, thats fine with me.
 
I ordered from them and all went well. I actually got the stuff really fast all things considered, but had issues with the delivery (FedEX) because I didn't know when it was coming and FedEX wouldn't just leave it at my door.

It would have helped if I got a email with shipping info, which I did hilariously get a few months after the fact, and after my rant with FedEX over the whole thing. If I know the package is coming and a signature required, I can get online to print out and leave them a signed note.

Either I didn't see their note, or they left the suspiciously undated note and said it was there three days (which I'd rather believe given their past behavior on attempting to get out of deliveries) then almost sent it back to Japan. I was not happy with FedEX. Get it all the way from Japan to Kentucky without a hitch, and getting it the last few miles to my door hangs it up.....I actually had to go pick it up from FedEX.

How long did it take for them to come? its about $160 for the pair for me.
 
I use ayanama everytime I don't need the part right away. Really satisfied with them, even after converting to can$.

Most of the time I order from the UAE location and have the item the next week
 
ordered from amayama multiple times.

not sure about shipping from UAE vs. JAP, but in my experiences the parts coming from UAE are generally cheaper than those from JAP

Won't be as cheap as amayama, but depending how close you are to the border, Kinek.com is a good option for US parts that won't cross the border. (assuming you are willing and able to cross the border and retrieve them)

Also toyotapartsdirect.ca is the Canadian equivalent of camelback. I've used them many times with very good results.

I rarely head down to the states but some family members do. Toyotapartsdirect is still pricey, in comparison to amayana.

Where In Ontario are you?
 
Have any of the Canadian folks had issues bringing items into Canada from Japan? A friend of mine warned me that even though you pay shippin, they could value the product higher and have to pay an insane amount of duty.

Just purchased an item from a fellow member here, he paid shipping ( from the states ) and when UPS arrived at my door today, they wanted a fee of $55 because it cane from the states. I have now paid more for the item than what I would have paid buying it at a store. And the "fee" was 3 times the price of the shipping - makes no sense.

My concern is ordering $600 worth of product from Japan, and having an unknown fee added when I receive it.
 
This won't apply for Japan of course, but is applicable to the US. Don't know about Japan.

I always opt for postal service shipping. There do not seem to be any additional fees. When I have used one of the courier services I was dinged also.

I have ordered quite a bit from rock auto recently, and with the cheapest shipping option, no extra fees were levied.

Let us know how that amayama service works out.
 
Question for Yella

Did end ordering from Amayama? I have same tariff/duty cost questions about shipping from Japan.
