American idol , navy man

I saw a thing on tv tonight about a Navy guy who got a leave of absence from the Navy to do idol.

I'm all for support of troops and being in law enforcement myself I appreciate the service they provide , BUT people who are having a child or home hardship can't get a leave when they need to be with family ( which to me is a hell of a lot more important than some idiot on idol)

unacceptable !

Is this guy a finalist right now? I do think that is a little shady but if he is a finalist he could be entering a life changing event that would benefit his family and the Navy can use it for promotional purposes too but I'd like to see details.

That is ridiculous. Like Ron said I would like to see the details of that, but if it is how it looks that is completely unacceptable.

This is old news from May 2007. You can do a search on Google using "american idol navy" and find over 1 millions hits.

Serving your country is about making sacrifices. Freaking Navy.

P.S. I thought it was against the rules to own a 4runner and watch american idol? Something about 'The code of Baddassery' clause or something like that? :D

Didn't know how old it was but just saw him on the TV Guide channels the other day talking. I've never watched American Idol , so I can't speak for that.
