Just went and saw this film with ladyfriend and I have no shame in saying it had me fighting tears and she had the tears going as well. Always had highest respect for our active duty and veterans, and this movie just reminds me why. If you want to see what hell PTSD put's this country's veterans through, this movie will give you a good glimpse.

Amazing movie.

And for the record, I've never left a movie theater and it be completely silent, reminded me of a funeral.

RIP Chris Kyle aka "The Legend". You are a hero.

I saw it this week as well, very intense. We noticed the silence as we were leaving also. Incredible to think what the members of our military go through to keep us safe here at home, highest level of respect here as well.

Was listening to NPR today on my lunch break, and they said that some people are criticizing this movie because they felt that it "glorified" war. I didn't come away with that feeling at all, and can't imagine why anyone would think that.
 
I have not seen the movie yet, but i will very soon. I did read the book,and it was very well written. I served in Vietnam in 67/68 so i have some experience with PTSD. RIP Chris.

Thank you for your service. I encourage you to see the movie.

As for NPR, I felt it showed the very real truth to what out heroes go through and that the battle doesn't stop once they are back on American soil.

I don't think it glorified war in any way. It showed that difficult decisions have to be made and there wasn't much sugar coating to it. I felt it was a very impactful film and gave me a glimpse of what a good friend of mine struggles with (PTSD) day and night.

Enjoy, and thank a veteran/active duty. They give everything and ask for nothing.
 
saw it early this week, there were people standing along the sides and folding chairs were brought in to the theater. was totally silent when i left as well, except for the occasional comment from the kid who lives his life through call of duty or the one girl i heard say "omg thats so said, why did they have to kill him off at the end of the movie" :redbrick:

Our showing was also silent as a tomb at the end. Everyone filed out in silence. I've seldom seen so many people similarly moved to the same level...

RIP Chris Kyle, and thanks to all of our veterans.
