Amp and CD Changer install location?

Folks,

Can anyone advise if the space under the passenger front seat is enough to house a MRP-F550 Apline amp?

I need to get an AMP and 12 disc CD changer installed and want them to be installed hidden away from sight,

The 550 is about 16"X 3" X 10" and I really would like to get it under the seat. The 12 disc is fairly bulky also and I was keeping the rear cargo space for it.

Any adviceyou can provide would be good. I tried reading the archives, but the only amp I saw under the seat was only 10" wide. I am looking at a 16" or a 20" (MB Quart)

Hi kalakar.......I debated on this question also....but for the mounting of 2 amps. The problem for me with the under-the- seats location is the presence of the rear heater vents...not only does it make for an uneven mounting location...but they would blow hot air over your amp every time you had the heater on....that won't work here in Colorado.

I've ended up mounting both amps to the backside of the rear seat. It's turned out nicely (I'm in the process of installing them this week).
