AMSOIL dual filter relocation kit...

so i picked up a dual filter relocation kit from a 1st gen tundra 4.7l, and am planning on installing it in the 4runner. anyone done this before? if so got any recommendations on locations for the filters? i have about 18" of soft/flex line to work with, and would like to have this in a easy to access area. was thinking possibly on the inside of the frame rail next to the front drive line/prop shaft. but that would require me to get longer hose. my engine bay is rather full of stuff and not allowing for much extras. so if anyone has done this id appreciate some input or tips and pictures, as well as advice. even if you havent, ill take ideas or thoughts on this...

I've installed one of these on a Chevy truck...but never on a 4Runner. When I did my install, I mounted it down on the frame rail, which allowed it to receive a good amount of salt spay during the winter. After just one winter...the fittings were already corroding and caused me great concerns...worried they might start leaking.

Unsure where you live, but if its anywhere there's a lot of salt on the road, spend the money and get longer hoses now...and save yourself some worrying and extra work.

Sorry not more help. When you get it done, show us some pics. I'd like to get another one of these...They worked really well. I did a couple oil analysis...made a big difference.

Unsure where you live, but if its anywhere there's a lot of salt on the road, spend the money and get longer hoses now...and save yourself some worrying and extra work.

Yea we don't use road salt around here. De-icer only. Makes working on these PNW trucks soooo much easier.

Hey, you don't have to rub it in...lol!! Yeah...I'm from Texas, so I know what it's like to have a nice clean under-carriage. Up here in Ohio...anything more than a couple years old, you better be ready for rust, corrosion, and broken bolts!! It sucks!

Good luck with the installation. Post some pics when you are finished. My uncle put one on his Duramax and it helpes him go much longer between oil changes.

When I first moved to the OBX our mail carrier had one on his Jeep 4.0 and got nearly 400,000 miles out of it before the salt water ate through parts of the Jeep's frame. He went 20,000 miles using Amsoil between changes. The oil, even after 20,000 miles, looked and felt clean.
