Amsoil or Redline Better Oil?

Has anyone seen any independent data comparing the performance of Amsoil vs. Redline synthetic engine oils? Transmision fluids? Gear lubes?

There was a lengthy test of various oils in Motorcycle Consumer News earlier this year (maybe last fall). If I recall right, both Red Line and Amsoil were at the top of the heap. You won't go wrong with either. I switch between the two based on price. In Reno Red Line was a good value, here in Dallas Amsoil has a distribution location. I can tell you stories about each brand that will lead you to believe they are truely the best available.

Ive seen people go with either oil on 4Runners to STI's. You cant go wrong with either one. If you check www.gadgetonline.com you can get a good outlook on AMSOIL.

When you say that Redline and Amsoil were 'at the top of the heap', is that defined by oxidation resistance, wear protection, coverage, performance gains, lack of carbon build-up allowed, or what?

Where did the score Mobil 1 synthetic? Mobil 1 is by far my favorite for overall protection/making a motor last.

Motorcycle Consumer News looked at the ingredients of each oil. Then they compared how the different formulations would affect engine wear. One would have to assume that the lower the wear, the better the lubrication. If I can find the articles, I'll look to see how Mobile 1 fared.
