Amsoil Recharge Kit work for K&N?

I traded in my 98 for an 06 and just purchased a K&N air filter for it. I had an amsoil filter in my 98 and still have about half of the last recharge kit left. Can I use the amsoil cleaner and oil on the K&N filter. I can't really tell what the K&N is made out of but the amsoil was the spongy material. I don't want to mess up the K&N by using the wrong stuff but I figured if it doesnt matter, why buy what I already have.
