Insurance claim I Think
Ouch,Sorry to hear that cause I'm remember the pain this will cost. This is why you pay for insurance. My stealership quoted me about 1400$ for a new glass and regulator. The dealer technician work time was going to be from 2.5 to 4hrs. Online I found them at 500 to 600$ for the glass and 100 to 200$ for the regulator. This is pre shipped pre tax, and not installed. It is pretty tight in there and it is not easy to work. Also I didn't want to chance the glass falling onto my feet or breaking all over my face. But I was luckier that my lift gate glass wasn't the main problem, but my regulator. And since it bolts on to the glass when the regulator was removed one of the glass connection points broke off. Which is why I would need a brand new glass. The dealer warned about that before we started the job. So I stopped the repair right there, told them to just leave the glass as is and not put the regulator back on, I built some clips to hold the glass. Window doesn't slide down anymore but I don't mind that. There is probably a good 600$ for the just the door itself, without any other required hardware and trim, bumper? tail lights? any other electrical component$$?$?$?$
Hope it's not raining where you are.....
