Hi guys. I just bought a '96 SR5 4wd with 310k miles. Just got a used motor with about 70k miles on it. Hopefully the rest of the drivetrain will last another 100k or so.

These trucks will last a long time if rust or accidents don't get them first.
I just finished a 1,300 mile trip last week through rain and snow with 3 kids and the wife. Averaged about 20 mpg and she ran like a champ the whole way.
97 Ltd with original engine & tranny at 415,000 miles.

Yeah it sure wasn't in the best shape when I got the truck 2 years ago. Filthy & disgusting would be an understatement of its condition.
Even with 350,000 miles and having been given up for dead — a little love and some new parts have given me 65,000 miles worth of good times so far.
In my opinion these trucks are worth saving even after a hard life of neglect. My truck was neglected it's whole life until I got it. Most of the parts I replaced were original too.

I even found the dried-out husk of long-dead maggots under the back seat by the emergency jack. No idea what the PO did to get them there. But that shows how much the PO cared about cleanliness — let-alone maintenance.

It was free.
Passenger LBJ failed when the PO pulled out of a gas station. They figured the truck was toast and offered it to me for free.
She's running like a champ now and even has a few upgrades like better headlights, GPS, LEDs, dash-cam, etc...

Wow she's quite the looker now.
I wonder if any of these super high mile runners are the 6 cylinder. They blow head gaskets, I imagine the 4 cylinder lasts longer.
