Android 7.0 - any beta testers out there?

I'm running Android 7.0 on my Verizon Nexus 6. All stock, not rooted or flashed. I joined the beta program after hearing about it on the internet.

So far it's really great. I did do a factory reset before going to 7.0 but that isn't required. With Nexus6 phone Verizon has released control of the updates to Google. It is Android working how it is suppossed to work!

I am on the opposite camp...running iOS 10 beta. And also running Apple Watch beta too.

Not to hijack your thread, but i love it that these companies now have these public betas for consumers to try. I hope that Google and Apple keep it up. :typing:

I hate being an early adopter - I let others work out the kinks for me That being said, I don't think Android 7.0 is targeted for release to my Galaxy Note 4 (T-Mobile) and I don't see myself dumping this phone any time soon.

The problem is that you will lose security features/add-ons from Nougat software. (And i am not talking about those monthly updates.)

I am not sure if 3rd party ROMs will include features described above, but that is one way around the official release. But 3rd party ROMs come with their own set of issues...so, beware.

IMHO, you need to upgrade esp if you have personal/financial info on your phone. If not, then party on with your Note 4...great phone btw.

I actually don't use many apps on my phone; I use the browser for just about everything as it's less of a security risk. I also use Firefox w/ Adblock and Ghostery.

Android 6.x (which I do run) already supports Application Permissions.

I doubt I'd upgrade to a 3rd party ROM. I have to run an app called Good Work/Good For Enterprise to get my Outlook email/calendar/contacts sync'd from my work laptop. It usually checks for a rooted system and if detected, it refuses to run.

I wish new phones still allowed for a swappable battery. That's one of the single best features of the GN4.
