never heard of one.... i hope those tail lights aren't part of the package lol
So the only extras on the anniversary addition are a nice spoiler and the front bumper guard? I wonder if it even has a locker?

Sounds like a little scam if you ask me.. It's pretty easy to get emblems like that. Either that or it was a dealer that put them on so they could make a few extra thousand.

Never heard of it, but I found this post on yotatech. Apparently it was a anniversary of the hilux surf and only sold in Hawaii because Hawaii is part of the Japan Toyota factories, or something like that. The only things different are the spoiler, bumber and badges. Looks like a lot more money for a jaos spoiler, unclean 99-02 bumber and some extra lettering.

I agree that looks like a hilux front bumper guard and a jaos rear spoiler. Those tail lights are aftermarket, and like streetkill said, you could easily find a sticker like that. I've never seen an anniversary edition, plus the seller did not mention a rear locker.

i checked out the thread on yotatech....would of never thought Hawaii would be part of Toyota Japan. Could explain why nobody knows too much about this anniversary edition.

could it have been bought for a spouse for their Anniversary and just had that airbrushed on? Just a thought.

Did'nt toyota put out some 40th anniversary vehicles in 98? My buddy has a 40th A.E. land cruiser made in 98.

Highly doubt that was a factory option. That 4Runner looks familiar though. Think I saw it last week when I was in Kona. I agree...that "Anniversary Edition" sticker is just a way to jack up the price.
