Another 3.4 throws a rod....

Someone posted on there that the 3.4's were made in the US and that could have contributed to the problem? I thought the 1st gen Taco's and 3rd gen runners were built in Japan? My 99' says so on the door jamb.

All Taco's were made in NUMMI Cal.
4Runners are Japan.
NUMMI plant closed last year or so, now I think Taco's are made in Texas or something like that.

First Digit of VIN will tell you were it is built.
