Lucky I wasn't riding with my girlfriend when she slammed into a wall at 60mph....... She lived two broken legs, and one arm, but no internal injuries...

Female driver; no survivors.

Glad she's (relatively) OK and the 4runner performed well in its final task

Daaaaammn!! I'm glad it was a 5th Gen and not a 4th Gen V8. THAT would have been a true death. Probably a life saver she was driving an SUV and not a car.

Wow man, that is a lot of displacement. Glad she walked (figuratively) away.

Sorry for your loss. Time to get the PRO I guess.

WAIT.....! That's a limited? I need your gauge cluster and NAV STAT

Man glad she made it out. That is a crazy looking mess of metal! Any other details? Was this today or has she has a few days to get sore?

oh man...so happy to hear she survived this, looks like an incredible wreck

i hope her recovery is expedient and she feels better soon

Cluster was toast, and you could remove the nav system while sitting in the back seat if you want a broken one... back half is all that was left undamaged.. I did smack the rear window three times with a crowbar before it would break......WEIRD!!!

This was dec 20th, and after rods in her legs and arm she stood (assisted) today for the first time since the accident...:crutch:

I am very glad your GF made it through and hope she recovers fast.

My condolences on the 4Runner.

Wow - glad to hear your GF survived, and relatively unscathed (considering). How the heck did she hit a wall at 60 mph, though?

I wouldn't call this a miracle, so much as marvelous engineering. The crumple zones did what they were supposed to do. A quarter century ago there would have been a lot more cabin intrusion, and likely a much more tragic outcome.

Hope she gets well soon!

Damn, that's not going to buff out. Glad she was relatively okay and hope she recovers fully. Very sorry for you guys. Seeing those pictures makes me hurt.
