Another after market leather question

Ok, so I got my leather set covers I ordered from accessoriesrusfl. I like the quality but did not expect to get perforated suede inserts on some of the surface. I have never had seats like these and was hoping for some inputs before I contact the company. I figure at the very least they will be harder to clean. Anyone else order from this company.?

Also, It looks like I got the set for the seats with the side airbags which I don't have. Are the seats a different shape or will these fit mine?

Pics of the seat covers....

Anyone know what X-SP stands for?

I got my kit from them as well, but don't have the perforated suede, just the regular leather. The suede is definitely harder to clean, but most aftermarket leather companies charge more for suede and perforation. Here's a FAQ about this material from Lexus (a similar material was used on the IS300 seats): http://lexus2.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/lexus2.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=595

Side airbags: doesn't really matter if you don't have the airbags, they just make the material on the side easier to open in case the airbag needs to be deployed. It would be a problem to install non-airbag seat covers on an airbag-equipped seat though.

Thanks for the quick reply. It makes sense now, I guess they sent me the X-SP package seat covers. I actually really like the looks of them and can't wait to have them installed.

Are you installing yourself?

I like working on things myself but this is something I don't feel like tackling on my own. I found a local shop to do it for around $140. Also having seat heaters installed at the same time.

So you're saying you ordered the regular leather seats and they sent you the XSP package seats?? That is odd considering its a special factory Toyota factory package! I was thinking of doing the suede/leather combo myself but in darker colors. Also, you can clean suede pretty easily, just get a good cleaning kit...

I've seen this ebay seller before, i was gonna buy from him but i had second thoughts about the quality of the leather because it was so cheap.. how'd you like it so far? got it installed yet?

I just settled for some cheap seat covers for now from exactseatcovers.com, if you like the material on your leather let me know, i'll get one from that seller too...

It's not a Toyota factory package, but rather a Toyota distributor/port installed package. South East Toyota to be exact. Thus, the package isn't available in all regions.

So they install the wheels, leather and accessories at the dealership?? Interesting...That still means that accessorierusfl would have had to get the leather from a dealership, or from the dealership's supplier, no??

Right, the dealer or distributor would still have to source the parts from somewhere, but it may or may not be geniune Toyota OEM parts. South East Toyota uses an aftermarket spoiler for their 4Runners--the third brake light is mounted underneath the spoiler rather than on the face (and there's a third brake light on the hatch).

The dealer I got my 4Runner from doesn't change anything on the vehicle since it left the factory. But there are numerous dealers around me that add those cheapie alarm systems with the bright blue LED by the lower dash panel. One dealer has Coach leather put in a couple Sport Editions. Another in the South Bay, I've heard installs Toytec lifts and 305s on their Tacomas.

Yeah, that is what happened. I didn't know that the X-SP was evan available or I probably would have ordered that. I'm on vacation this week and did not get a chance to get it to the installer before I left so i will have to wait a couple of weeks.

Glad to hear that suede is not that hard to clean. I think it looks good and I would assume that is doesn't feel as hot as the leather would when in the sun.

I thinks the quality is very good. I was skeptical as well but I called them and they said they guarantee the quality and would refund if I didn't like it. IMO they are of better than the ones I've seen at the dealer and on par with my wifes Volvo S60.

When I get them installed I will know for sure and give feedback and pics

Alright, finally got around to getting them installed. Very happy with the results. Trust me, they look better in person than in the photos. Must be something with the flash or camera.

Looks awesome! I don't think I've ever seen a black X-SP kit, but I like it!

Don't worry about it looking weird. It's always a little loose immediately after installing them. Give it a week or two and it'll tighten up and look better.

Hey - I just ordered and received the same set of leather - I'd like to do the install (plus seat heaters) myself, are there any good threads that detail the install process for leather seats? Help! Thanks,
