E-locker wasn't engaging(had never been used).pulled it off.inspected it.Cleaned it.Greased it.everything looked great.Plugged it in before installing and cycled the diff lock button a few times.cycled as it should.installed it.however im still getting the flashing RR Diff Lock light on the dash.Im positive it's engaging. How does the diff lock motor know to stop cycling? Is whatever switch that's telling me my diff lock isn't engaged the same one that tells the motor to stop cycling?I have a feeling that since it didn't keep cycling when I tested before I installed it it isn't but just wanna be sure.

Make sure your in 4x low .

While you have the locker motor out press the locker button to Lock it .
Then take a screwdriver and slide the gear in the rear all the way to the left (looking at the rear ) . Make sure rear is locked .
Put it back together and it should work , not sure why it works but some how it realigns the locker .

As mentioned here, slide the gear (in the diff) to the locked position and engage the locker before installing. The FSM actually gives this step as the install, though I've tried both. While in there, slide the gear back and forth a few times to get it nice and lubed and able to slide smoothly. This will assure the the actual locker itself isn't seized up due to lack of use. Took mine a couple of times and a bunch of tries to get it to "loosen up" and lock.

Also, does your ABS light come on when you try to engage it (assuming you have ABS cuz you're a limited)? For a while only my RR DIFF LOCK button would flash, but not ABS light. After cleaning all the wire connectors while it was out and reinstalling, the abs light would finally come on and locker would engage.

Yes in 4lo and yes the abs light comes on.im positive it's locking. The rear end is binding up.So I should've manually engaged the locker and engaged the locker motor and installed it?

the locker motor has like a horn ring in it so it will only rotate so far and it stops. it engages a clock spring which will rotate a gear when locker aligns. the spring prevents the motor from burning itself up when the locker splines aren't aligned. the locker gear might be off a tooth causing the locker to not fully engage. pull the locker motor off, lock it, move the gear in the diff all the way in (towards the pinion) and you should feel the switch that tells the ecu its locked click. see if the light still flashes. if all good install the locker motor as per instructions or like the other guys said. also if the locker motor and springs aren't aligned you will have more problems like not engaging or disengaging properly like not locking or unlocking. could be more but have to start here :)
