Another Engine/Transmission vibration question (1400-2100rpm)
So I've had this truck for about the last 32k mi (162k on it now), and just recently I have been feeling a type of slight shuddering or vibration when the engine is under load. 2005 v8 4wd
I know it's not a wheel balance issue or a driveshaft issue, because it seems to be rpm dependent and not speed dependent (it is worse above 30mph though).
There's a slight shudder/vibration in the steering wheel and a slight shudder in the gas pedal. It feels almost like the engine is lugging... It's definitely not the rumble strip issue as it's not a very aggressive shudder. My wife doesn't think that most people would notice it, but I notice, and it bugs me. A lot.
I've been searching for days, and the two most promising culprits I've found involve a really dirty air filter and MAF sensor (running a TRD drop in filter), and a cracked spark plug (cracked porcelain causing a grounding issue under load). I changed the plugs when I first got the truck and didn't start to feel the issue until very recently (maybe the last couple of months). Since I started to feel the issue, I've greased the driveshafts, rotated the tires, changed tire pressures, seafoamed the intake, and done a 12qt fluid exchange on the transmission.
I thought I would post this to see if anyone has any ideas before I start throwing money at it on Friday. Thanks for the help!
