ANOTHER exhaust question

I am a fairly new member and I have looked this site over many times. I have a 2005 sr5 v8 and I am looking to add a little rumble to it but I am not sure of the best setup.

Has anyone every just added a muffler, but kept the resonator on the end? If so how does that sound?? I know this doesn't do anything for gas mileage-it is just for sound but- just curious.

... Or should I just get off my wallet and spring for the catback system. If so what catback sounds the best? I have looked on youtube and found a decent one with gibson catback...

I know this is a lot of questions and possibilities but I am looking for some answers.

I installed a Borla cat-back and I am very satisfied (except for the furnished rubber hanger that I had to replace). I has a nice burble when you get a little liberal with the loud pedal. Very nice at WOT. I also have cold air filter kit installed (K&N) and that sounds like a 4-bbl carb with the air hat flipped over. Passing people, standing on the gas, can't believe the sounds are coming from a rice burner! BTW, I just beat my friend driving an Acura 3.2 TL. Not too shabby for a V-8 4WD.

If you want a cheap exhaust and good quality and dont want to spend that much Burtman Industries is selling it for about $250 if i remember correctly..It's more than a muffler too..dunno if its full catback...Those that have it have only had good things to say..try a search.

Just weld in a Borla or Maggie into the stock system.
Keep the resonator to minimze drone.
Complete Catbacks on a stock engine adds very little power.
If you like the louder sound than go for it.
