Gabe's new 1/4rs , front fenders and a new tailgate skin ..
so it rolled in today .. and started the tear down right away ..

Stripping it down further ,

wire wheel and sanding for POR

and some hidden rust you never see , untill the panel is off

1/4rs off .. and some prep - por-15 on the inner rust ..

and curing for the moring install

tore into the rear hatch today ..

got it wire wheeled , and some POR on ..

also got the 1/4rs trimmed and fit .. and glued ..

and after lunch got the rear hatch repair panel trimmed and allt the pieces mounted .. and glued as well

should be all ready to put back together tomorrow

adhesive .. we use *3M panel bonder #08115 (lifetime guarentee on the bond)

workin on the front fenders ..

front end back together and buttoned up ..

roof back on , and interior going back in

fuel filler done , but his door was to rusted to reuse .. time for a new one

and finally .. the gate back on .. and DONE

customer picked up . and was VERY happy !!

all thoes parts are $1050.00
labor and shop supplies runs $1600.00 (epoxy panel bonder is $200.00)
taxes were $350.00

total cost was 3G 's

Very nice work. Really transformed the truck, and likely shaved some weight too!

Who makes the fiberglass parts? Are they cheap CSM or high quality? Fitment looks good, and that's most important.

Yes , they are Chop strand mat , but hand laying , and "special " ISO" resin makes the differance . I can not comment on any other manufactures products .. But we use a special formulated "ISO" resin (not just the general purpose resin , that are much more inexpencive) .. This resin is basically impervious to tempature changes , which means it has the same characteristics in hot weather as in cold weather , shrinkage in vertually eliminated .. with enhance flexability ..

other materials .. carbon fibre , kevlar are avaliable for these pieces .. but most people dont want to spend that much money

but , If your interested .. we can certinally accomidate

2nd gen rears are commin' in 2011 .. already have a few sets pre sold .

if ya cant find it , we can supply it .. but maybe try NAPA , or Acklands/Granger

sorry , maybe I should rephrase that .. I have deposits , not pre sold .. I dont know exactly the pricing yet .

first will be a stock replacement .. most likely to the window and front to back ..
then we will be working on a "hi clearance" set ..

so basically cut out the bad metal and glue in the fiberglass panels? nice i want to address this issue when the snow is gone so you think they will be ready in june? will you have them listed on your website?
