another fj suspension done

finally completed my fj conversion. here it is. fj trail teams bilsteins shocks / fj trail teams springs front and rear. 1" spacer in front. airlift aig bags in back. on order 265/70/17 hankook dynopro at. better be here tomorrow lol. everything was pretty easy. hardest part was getting the rear shock off (they were rusted). didnt want to cut them off. air bag were super easy about 1.0 hr. just ran 2 line back to the lower side part of the rear bumper. also upgraded my hitch a coupe weeks ago. put on a class 3 toyota hitch.

future plan- breather mod , sway bar bushing mod . cai (will be here friday). magnaflow exhaust. maybe a front winch bumper ( my buddy wants me to build one for his dodge and my runner , well see) plus more time will tell.

true true. i dont have a ton of money into it and it just what i want. shocks & springs 70.00 , air bags 50.00. spacer 100.00. all you have to do is wait for the right deal on ebay and everything is cheap. and everything is new except for the shock but i was told there is less then a 1000 mikes on them. cant beat that.

How much net lift did this combo get you? Been contemplating doing the same thing.

front is just a tad under 2". the rear is around an 1". with the bags it varies. i dont know if the trail team springs are a little heavier. not sure. i really like the set up. for the price i cant go wrong. this will do for know. hopfully in the future i can get a different lift and bigger tire. i really want to run 33 on my 4runner. i have a set of front shocks with fj springs ready to install if your interested. you can find cheap rear springs on ebay or the fj forum. i look there all the time for stuff.

Hey Guys, I just bought a set of these Bilstein TT Shocks and Springs and I have
Three questions:
1. What is your feeling on the ride quality of the TT Shocks and Springs vs. Stock?
2. Do you feel like the rear can tolerate more weight with less sag?
3. How do you think this setup will work if I install them with my Daystar 2.5/1.5 ez-install spacers?

i love this set up. the ride is firmer. tighter in the turns. no so bouncy. i would recommend it to anyone. the most you will get form this set up is 1" you will notice a difference in hieght. i had just fj coils on the front and there was a difference. then i got the tt set up. when i got this set-up it did come with a daystar lift. (im not completly sold on such a big spacer). im sure it will work fine with no problems.

Are they the trail teams springs and struts? How much are you asking for them? Your setup is ideal for me.

the one i have for sale are my 4runner front struts with fj coils installed. the rears are off my 4runner. the tt set up is on my runner now. i would recommend it to anyone.

Looking good! I agree the FJC Offroad is hard to beat...for me it was about $110! Not too bad for an almost brand new suspension.

They are made by Firestone or Airlift. They go inside the rear coils and use about 5psi-35psi of air to help level the vehicle when it's loaded (inside or with weight of a trailer). They don't function as a lifting devece but they do allow you to retain the 'unloaded' height even when loaded. I have them and love them. Link in sig. they are airlift 1000. part # 60809. average price around 80-90$ . i found mine on ebay for 50.00 new. have keep watching for the good deals. they are real easy to install when you do the swap. the only think i recommend in the install is run the valve up. air lift says to run it down ( i didnt like that idea). firestone bags say to run the line up. i really like this set up for now. handle real nice , not so bouncy on the highway. i would recommend this set up to any one.

I do... It depends on your install. If you use separate right and left fill valves it handles better in normal driving. (I run 15psi in the left and 10-12 in the right.) It helps to reduce bodyroll.

If you use a single fill there's no benefit beyond levelling that I can think of besides one more item for you signature line at T4R.org

Gotta give kudo's to the FJ set up. I love it . Also running 1" CF spacer up front . Sitting about 1/2-1" higher in rear. (for now)
