Greetings from Austin!
My sister was getting rid of her 2000 4Runner and asked if I was interested. The price was right (I should say It was one HECK of a deal) so I bought it.
I have always owned Toyota's (a couple of 70/80's Hiluxes, a '93 SR5 truck and a '97 Taco), but this is my first 4Runner. All I have to say is I AM IN LOVE! I can honestly say I will probably always own a 4Runner. Now I can understand why so many people love 'em.
It has the fuel gauge issue (supposedly fixed, but I don't think they did it right) and I had to replace the rear seals, but it was well worth it. With only 160k on the odometer, it has plenty of life left in it.
