Another Fuel Gauge Problem

Okay, so lots of problems with fuel gauges on the 3rd gens, but I think mine is a little different

So yesterday I got some 6 inch 100 watt KC lights for free, and was going to replace my cheapo :ak472: Walmart 55's on the front. I removed the wiring from the previous lights, which ran through the drivers side fender (as opposed to the firewall). From there it went under the dash and to the transmission shifter area where I had a touch screen switch installed. Once I removed this wiring I turned my car on to go to lunch, well I turned the car on, and the fuel fuel gauge read full, then 2 second later it went all the way down and the fuel gauge lights blinks on and off. What could I have messed up while doing this? I have read previous threads and all but can't find anything this specific!

:thanks:
Oh and a picture of the new to me KC's

My runner did the exact same thing. But I wasn't messing with wiring...I had it at the welders, getting the panhard bar mount fixed.

It reads full and then drops instantly to all the way empty with the light blinking. Except I've long since removed the light, and ignore the gauge. I just fill up every 200 miles.

Seeing that you have the same problem, and that it was initiated by SOMETHING, makes me wonder if it's not a grounding issue.
