Hey Everyone,

This is my first post, but I can already say this forum will consume a good deal of my time in the future. Thanks in advance for all the help!

The question of the day is whether or not this seems to be a good deal.

Another question I have is how much the winter season is influencing the price of this and other 4X4 vehicles. Would it be in my interest to wait until April to purchase my first 4Runner?

...and come warmer weather when the passes melt, the prices will be influenced by it being "wheeling season". :cheers:

As someone who is also in the market for a 4thGen T4R, that seems to be a reasonable deal assuming it checks out based on Edmunds TruMarketValue as well as what I'm seeing on the market locally.

i must've gotten a helluva deal cuz over a year ago i picked up my 1 owner, 2003 v8 limited with all options, 65K miles plus aftermarket dvd/audio system for $15.5.

it is a mint suv and it's even better now since i've owned it. TMV says my truck is worth $13K on a private sale. i think i could honestly get $15K for it given the maintenance and condition of car in and out with a couple of choice mods all top drawer.

That's a heck of a good looking vehicle. Glad it's you having to keep that thing shiny black though. :lol:

I wanted a 4runner i could buy with cash and got lucky, found one off of craigslist back in may a couple of states away. I took a chance but ending up paying 11.5k for it and 04 v8 with 60k miles, so if there was anything wrong with it i wouldnt have gotten too screwed. It had a dent in the back and was very dirty but i already knew that. It was maintained mechanically by the people who owned it with reciepts. Since i've had it knock on wood, there have been no issues.

cool dude. yea, both my cars i own the titles. the other car was like $70K but oh my depreciation is a sucky thing. gotta pay to play.
i'm not into the loan thing.

the only thing i've run into with mine in the 1.5 years or so i've owned it ....

-the backlight on the main vent/fan/temp/clock indicator started fading in and out a bit so got those swapped at the dealer

-CV boots started leaking so $600 later, got the new OEM replacement kit. i read threads where they say use a hose clamp, but my belief and the toyota tech's belief is that these are a wear item. the boots move around. a hose clamp is merely a band-aid. just get a new set and enjoy tens of thousands of miles of grease free truckin. i'll still keep an eye on it, though.

all my service is done at the dealer thus the prices. i'm fine with paying for convenience, "indemnification" as they say in the software world, and a loaner car.

good luck. i love driving this truck and it's crazy coming from a guy who's owned ///M inline6s and flat6s in the back!

this is my first black car and i actually don't think it gets that dirty that quick. i have a detailer guy does handwashes all the time. come spring i'll prob do another full wax/polish job.
 
People... People... While I must agree that THEROK has an amazing looking 4runner, let's get back to business here. Should I pull the trigger, or would I be better of waiting for Spring?
 
Offer them $12K and work from there. If they say $15.5K, then re-offer them @ $12.5K. So on and so forth 'til you two meet at some agreement.
 
$12K ? Seriously? I've never purchased a vehicle from any sort of dealer, but I wouldn't have thought to go that low. I know the worst they can say is "no", but is $12K even a possibility?
