Another Hitch/Wiring Question

Hai(first post). Sorry don't have pics.

I have gone through the forums here quite extensively researching hitches and the involved wiring. I think I have found all that I need, but I get worried about buying this stuff and it not working out. So I just wanted to e sure that everything I buy is right before I go ahead and do it.

I have a 2007 4Runner. Below is the hitch I have decided on. Decent price and free shipping ftw!!

I'm confident that the hitch will workout perfectly from everything I've read, and it shouldn't require any trimming of the bumper as far as I know.

The main question I have is about the wiring. Our 4Runner already has (what I believe to be) the 7 way wiring plug in the back. I've read about some people doing something to attach that to the hitch. Do I need to do that or can I just buy the below items and do just fine? Thanks in advance!!

Look under the rear bumper drivers side to see if you already have the 7pin plug. Most have it. If so you will need to relocate or modify it once the hich is installed. Some aftermarket hitches like the Hidden Hitch model have a mount welded on for it. I installed the Curt hitch and had to bend the stock wiring mount so it would fit. Still an easy install.
If you don't have the plug at all it should be a simple plug and play fit into the T4R harness but you won't have a mounting bracket unless your hitch is equipped with one.
The links for wiring are not what you want. Go to an rv store and get one. They can be installed for less than $50.

It does have the plug in the back. I am not sure if the hitch has the mount on it or not. What are the specific parts I will need to get this done and what will happen if I do not have the mount on the hitch?

If you have the plug already it's simple. If the hitch has a mount, you remove the stock bracket, slide the plug out, install the hitch (put wires and plug over hitch first) then screw plug into the hitch bracket. If it doesn't have a mount you can modify the stock bracket. What needs to be done depends on the hitch and how much space you need. For mine I had to remove the plug and mount, install the hitch, bend the mount bracket so it was almost flat and then reinstall. It's hidden up behind the hitch frame so you can't see it (I like the clean look) but the downside is the longer distance to plug in.

Sounds easy enough. Now just so I'm certain I understand you correctly, I should be able to do this with the links I provided in my original post? (along with some modification of the original mount)

Just to clarify, you have the 7pin plug in under the bumper already right? Then all you need is the hitch not the wiring in the last 2 links, unless your trailer is only a 4 pin connector then just get the 7-4 adapter.

Yep. We already have the 7pin plug in the bumper.
