Another Lift Thread....

Big thanks to those that helped! Ive read several of these build threads and wasted my time to get to the end to find it sold or something. Ive been on these forums for years. Pirate, CO4x4, Tx4x4, Hardline Crawlers, IH8Mud, you name it. Tryin to be a billy bad ass tough guy on your keyboard isnt cool. Help or move on.

Ill look at piece mealing it together too. Thats the way Ive built a lot of kits over the years as well.

I wouldn't bother honestly, if you started at the toytec boss I wouldn't let info or lack there of in this thread sway you away from it. Since you didn't mention adding more weight the standard superflex rear coils will be good. As I mentioned you aren't likely to get much feedback on the 2.5" coilovers given they are pretty new. I went with the boss given so much solid feedback and I didn't want to spend icon etc money at the time, also wanted decent on road and much better offroad (compared to Xreas). Stick with your initial idea until you get solid info swaying you a different direction. My biased opinion of course...

Side note, I went with saw rear coils only because I wanted to stay with 265's for awhile and thought the higher lift would look silly. Fast forward and now I have a heavy steel bumper so I'm likely going to get new coils to get more lift back anyway.

Thats the info that Im looking for. Only thing on the rear will be the GOBI ladder on the tailgate and a bike rack from time to time. Cooler in the rear to go camping. No bumper for now but if so we can upgrade that as needed down the road.

What about UCA's? That was one of my main questions.

Ah the voice of reason ! Glad you got rid of that heep , :alien: lots of good reports from the guys who went with 6112s front & 5160 rears with any uca upgrade totalautomotive here n Vegas & by all accounts good service compared to toytec ! Only what I've heard & read here . :sobbing::focus:

Sounds like you already know everything and with the attitude you are showing you wouldn't listen anyway. How do you ever know what you need unless you spend time driving it stock? This is not Pirate or anywhere else. People here actually help and we don't know you from Adam, although with your posts in this thread we are getting a sense of how you are...

Really? 75% of the posts to my thread have been of NO help, including yours. With the same amount of keystrokes you could have typed "hey I have so and so lift/suspension and I really like it. Sounds like we have close to the same rig and add ons so you should look into it."

These forums really dont surprise me anymore. If we were on top of Blackbear Pass and we ran into each other 99% of you guys would stop, we would each look at each others rig and BS for an hour about what mods we have. What we like, what we wish we would have done different, etc. Get behind a keyboard and your just a total badass. I guess I dont understand that mentality. Ive built half a dozen VERY capable rockcrawlers. I know what I want to accomplish. Just trying to find out what is working for this particular vehicle. Pardon me
 
I'll chime in again with more detail since it may help with your decision process, even though I have no real world experience with any of them... ha! So I've also been looking at the 3 main Toytec kits, BOSS, Ultimate, and the straight 3/2, and alternatively going with OME only instead.

Based upon everything I've managed to find, OME came off as a little too rough for my tastes, with the 884 fronts and 889 rears. That leaves Toytec for me, plus I live 3 miles away from them. Now will I ever get a winch, sliders, bumpers, southern slimline in the future. Maybe, probably, who knows. So maybe I will need to upgrade springs at that time, so I need something that allows me to do that easier than other options.

That leaves the straight 3/2 option. So I'll have the 5100s, springs for my current needs, and have the option of upgrading springs easier in the future. And why go with a 2.5"-3" lift in the front without UCAs, better to do it now, so I'm gonna go with the LR ones.

What is the straight 3/2? I tried to research that and only came up with spacer stuff from Cornfed.

I was too lazy to post a link. Here ya go, the TTHA-CK-RCC one. It comes with the 521600 front coils, which offer 2.5" lift, and then they have another .5" built into the mount, giving 3". This way the spring is not too preloaded in the case of going with stock springs. I'd get the diff drop (since I'm going 3") and the Superflex rear coils.

You can get UCA's now or later, your choice. :yo: save yourself the alignment.

Some of the folks you feel are giving you a hard time have helped me tremendously along the way. Im sure every forum has its own personality, just gotta understand it and go with the flow.
 
There not bothering me one bit. I got better things to do than worry about somebody being a badass on a keyboard....its probably the only place they get to do that. Lol! Its really too bad this site is like that. Tacoma world is laid back. I shoot long range rifles and those sites are laid back. I havent been on Pirate in awhile...too many asshats that really dont know shit and just playing the part.

To those that took the time to help......I honestly appreciate it!

Might as well grab some UCAs now.

I knew you were never on Pirate... if you were it wasnt for long. Yes I bought my 4runner built LOL... FYI there are only like 3 "Built" rigs on this forum (5th GEN)... the rest are slightly modified, mine being one of the later. Im not trolling to make myself feel good I am just calling you out for being a little girl. You asked a question, you got answers and promptly replied that this wasnt your 1st rodeo.... well then get on the damn bull and ride stop being the rodeo clown
