Another "new" 3rd gen!

Hello all- New to the T4R world. Just picked up this 99 SR5 that has been in the family since it was purchased new.

I've already plasti-dipped the grill, front/rear bumpers. Installed some CDT component speakers and am going to throw on some Cree LED lights this evening. Rust treatment on the chassis is going to be an uphill battle. I've already spent a day with metal prep and POR15 covering up most of the visible/cosmetic corrosion.

Rear springs/shocks appear to be worn. Ride height is equal front to back on the passenger side but sags about an inch on the driver side.

Thanks to the forum I've already figured out how to wire in the lights. Still doing some research on rear suspension options. I'm thinking of going with KYB shocks and Moog 81041 coils to keep the stock "tall 99" look.

This is the process I've been using so far:

-Wire brush to remove loose scale & surface rust as much as possible.
-Clean well with degreaser.
-Apply POR15 'Metal Prep' which is a rust converter and surface etcher.
-Brush on POR15 from the can on the worst of it.
-Top with POR15 'Top Coat' (POR15 is sensitive to UV and fades. Top Coat doesnt)

It seems to hold up pretty well. Only time will tell though!
