8.75% holy crap that is alot! I hated paying the 6% here, it rally starts to add up on expensive items like new trucks.

I'd like to buy a house at the Delaware beach and register my new cars there......no sales tax!

My 4Runner too had it's 2 year b-day a few months back. I'm looking for many more years to come...

7yrs and still going stong. I recently added some Nitto Terras. They make it look quite a bit more 'truckish' but sadly add quite a bit of road noise. It's more of an issue for my wife since she and the baby have taken over the 4runner. Maybe an excuse to grab a 2011!

It's just under 45k now but the miles/year will drop off again once I get my wife a new ride. The only thing that ever needed repair is the A/C clutch relay (see thread). This is a common problem due to a design defect. Other than that, it's just been routine maintenance and a set of tires. I suspect I'll be due for a set of brakes soon.

I also recently sold my 1992 Toyota Pickup / 4cyl / 5spd with ony 77k miles. In 19.5yrs, the only repairs it ever needed was radiator and hoses, window washing fluid pump, battery, clutch, tires, brakes, re-upholstered vinyl bench seat (to cloth), + routine fluid changes. I paid $7k new in 1992 and sold it for $3500.

Her 13th birthday passed a few weeks back at only 87k miles. My wife still does most of the miles on her these days.

It's been nothing but routine maintenance so far -- great truck!
