Another new 4runner owner w/ questions

My wife just bought a 2006 Sports Edition 4X4 w/ V8. We have the Borla cat back and after reading alot about cai, is the volant cai the best? Also, which HID kit 5000K or above is personally recommended?

Hey welcome to the boards. I hope you got the Borla that works with the 2006 setup. If you get the wrong setup, the spare tire will not fit with the Borla pipes. Do a search, the correct PN has been discussed.

Xenon Depot is highly recommended...

Thanks for the reply and knowledge. The dealer ordered the exhaust, I got them to throw it in for almost nothing, so I hope it is the correct one becuase the rep. just ordered it Friday.

The Volant is the *only* CAI available for your model. I have it and I like the way it looks and sounds (fairly loud). I have realized about a 1 mpg improvement in economy and I'm estimating 5-10 whp. I plan on proving the power gains within a week or two. By the way, Welcome!!

Thanks for the replies. So going with the Borla cat back and Volant cai intake is a pretty good setup. I truly am cluless to this vehicle and how it responds to mods. My last two cars have been a WRX and then an EVO VIII (waiting for the EVO X). We are also going to get a NAV system and I am turned on to the HID setups. I am truly happy with all the mods that's out there.

The Borla is a bit pricey; the Magnaflow is much less expensive but still top quality. I would wait to see some hp numbers before putting in an intake system.
