Another new guy...Dallas, TX

Hey ladies and gents,
Just wanted to introduce myself, picked up a new 2015 TEP w/ KDSS last week.

Any T4R love out in Dallas?

Welcome to the forum. I also purchased through Toyota of Dallas and have been relatively pleased with their service. They seem to be the only area dealer who brings in TE's. They built my rig three years ago and did a good job.

Welcome! There's plenty of love for T4Rs in the DFW. Nice rig by the way man.

For you DFW folks, we have a Toyota off-road club, Toyota Trail Riders, that meets monthly at Papa's BBQ (2nd Thur night of the month). The Lone Star Land Cruiser club also meets at the same time. After the meetings, we go into the parking lot and talk trucks. Our off-road events are usually organized to have trail leaders for easy (usually stock vehicles or inexperienced drivers), medium, and challenging runs. This is a great way to learn just how awesome your truck is on off-road terrain.

We also put on the annual Lone Star Toyota Jamboree out in East TX at Barnwell Mountain OHV Park. This past year we had 3 5th gen 4Runners in attendance, and all did well on the trails.

I live in Mansfield and I'm headed out to the Northwest Offroad Park in Bridgeport this coming Sunday (11/30) Northwest OHV Park | Bridgeport, TX - Official Website

I go out there pretty regularly, its a lot of fun.

And unlike the aforementioned "club" if you want to come out, there are no dues, bylaws and applications to see if you're a "good fit". If you're an adult and know how to use a phone or computer, you're good in my book.

If you don't have a tech for warranty work, etc. the one I've used for the last 8 years is the best on the planet (used to be at Toyota of Dallas but is currently at Toyota of Plano). He's done extensive work on both my FJ and my 4-Runner (including a LONG list of modifications, aftermarket add-on's, etc.). Feel free to PM me if you'd like his contact info. I can assure you that you won't be disappointed.

Yep, he's great! The worst part about moving to Austin. I'll probably plan trips to Dallas just so he can do any major work I need to have done.

[MENTION=115171]jichoe[/MENTION] , so let me understand this - they had your TE w/KDSS on their lot at Toy of Dallas? This is news to me if the Gulf States is now ordering the TE's with KDSS for the region! Perhaps I won't have to be taking a long road trip for KDSS later this year after all.

Congrats on your truck, and so much love for the T4R in Dallas, you should just a feel a little more special as so many around here are 2WD.

That's a roger. Had one here that I could track down in all of Texas. Was working with a dealer in Austin for a TRDP but the deal fell through quickly. Just a note to add, no one knew about the KDSS and guessing that it helped to work things out in my favor. Think we tracked 50+ Trails, 4 or so in white, and only 1 with KDSS at the time in the Gulf Distribution Area.

Be patient and good luck, also oil changes are a b****. (My 2 cent vent)
