After a few weeks of research on here and other sites, I decided a 4runner would be right for me. So I just picked up my '97 4runner last night. Its great to see an active forum like this. For a guy like me it really helps with the DIY as I learn about a car. Anyway here it is:
167k, decent maint. history, pretty clean, one owner. Valve cover gaskets will need to be replaced soon but I think I'll be able to tackle that (did plenty of research on here so I know its not a quick job).
I still have my '01 TDI for commuting (635 miles a week all on one tank) but this will be used for kid hauling, towing, go to lowes for stuff, and around town extra car to keep miles off my commuter. I think Id like offroading but that would be out of my expertise.
