Another one bites the dust.

I spent the weekend looking for a replacement and came up with this. It's a little newer (love the cup holders and larger cargo cubby) and lower miles. No leather and the interior is that ugly blue-grey color. It's a 5-speed with the elocker, so that's pretty much all that mattered to me. I also drove an FZJ80 and my buddy's tundra (pictured) over the weekend and confirmed that the 3rd gen is still the truck for me.

Still no news on the insurance front. I need to pull a lot of stuff off the old truck and I'm not sure whether I can do that on their lot or if I need to buy the truck back. I guess I'll just have to cross that bridge when my adjuster gets around to me. :/

I finally heard back from insurance and they're actually cutting me a pretty fair deal. They valued the runner at close to $7,000. Not what I've put into it, but we all know modifying a vehicle is burning money. Minus my deductible and the buy-back, I'll actually be coming out about $1200 ahead with a newer, lower mileage truck. I'm thinking I might spring on a front air locker.

Sometimes stuff just works out :D

Got the truck back from Progressive the other day. My wife actually pulled it off the flatbed and parked it under it's own power. However the battery is dead and I can't get the hood open at the moment.

Anyway, here's some carnage:

I think the whole weight of the truck was on the passenger side slider at one point. Trail gear slider took it like a champ. Didn't deflect at all, or at least as far as I can tell by the mangled rocker panel.

That is sad! I have one the same color. Yours was cleaner than mine but I still like it. I need the cup holder piece and the rear spoiler when/if you decide to part out. Glad to hear everyone is safe!

Sad to see a dead runner :/ glad everyone was okay, toyotas seem to be pretty safe when it comes to wrecks, I know a guy who's wrecked a t4r a taco a tundra a sequoia. Rolled the 4runner, taco vs semi at 60 mph, tundra vs chevy silverado (silverado lost). That's all I know how he wrecked.
