Another one for the S/C people

Okay so I was talking to one of my buddies actually the one I bought my 4runner from and I was telling him how I got new spark plugs and wires. Long story short I cant use the NGK or the Denso that everyone uses b/c he says that it causes the s/c to ignite faster than it should and causes it to miss so he told me to pull the ones out and order the ones I have on it now. I guess what im getting at is what spark plugs are the rest of my s/c peeps running and if your running the denso k16tr11 or the ngk bkr5ekb-11 let me know how it runs for you or the brands you are running now

Stock spark plugs are NOT the best plugs to use on a supercharged 3.4l.

For a supercharged engine, you're best off getting Denso Iridium IK-22's, which are 2-steps cooler than stock plugs. Cooler plugs will help prevent cylinder knock (especially if you don't have a piggyback control unit to re**** your timing). They're pricey, but they're the best.

Also, make sure to gap them to .032", which has worked great for many people running IK-22's and a supercharger.

Denso Iridium IK22's, and the truck runs great.

Before I installed the IK22's it had Denso K20R-U's... the "U" being for "U groove". It ran just fine on the U-grooves, but the IK22's smoothed out the idle and seemed to help it run smoother overall.

What do you have yours gapped at, BFAD? Also, where did you order from? I don't want to not support URD, but I think I paid half that for mine... I just don't remember where.

I imagine the OP would like to get them cheaper than $11 a pop.

IK22's are gapped at 0.032" right out of the box, and that's how I'm running them. There's no need to screw around with gapping them, you'll only risk damaging the tip of the electrode. See for yourself...

I got mine from URD when I purchased my 7th Injector Upgrade kit... he gave me a little break on them b/c I was buying the kit, pulley, and plugs all at once.
