Another one - good deal or not??

I am newbie to this and 4Runner. I am looking to buy either a Pilot Ex-L W/Nav or a 4Runner SR5 V6 4WD w/ThirdRow + Nav. A dealer agreed to me on phone OTD price $30500 for the SR5 with the requirements I asked for.
Now what do you guys think?? Is this good or should I bargain more??
I am not an off roader at all. Just trying to buy my first SUV for the family soon to grow.

Since you know what options you asked for, the best way to judge your deal would be to look up the "invoice price" on either Edmunds or KBB. 4Runners have been selling near that invoice price (within a few hundred bucks) BEFORE any cash-back rebates or special financing. "Out the door" should also include tax, title, and plates, so factor that in as well.

Nav is very hard to find on anything but a V8 Limited, and the third-row seat is also relatively uncommon. The two together will be a needle in a haystack. Did the dealer say he has such a thing in stock, or did he mention that he'd have to order it. A factory order takes about 3 months, so that wait may affect your decision as well.

Thanks for the responses. Dealer did not say whether he had it in stock or not. If it takes that long to get it ordered, may be I'll differ my decision. I am going to see the dealer tomorrow.

Well, I considered the Pilot. I liked it, but there were a couple of things to consider.

They are close in EPA ratings for fuel economy, but in real world the Toyota is far more economical. Fueleconomy.gov website shows the 4runner V6 to have over 4MPG mixed, real world driving numbers! Out of a bigger engine too! Whodathunkit?

The 4Runner also has a fantastic 4WD system. The Pilots is more like the CRVs where it is mostly a FWD car until it senses slippage and THEN engages the rear. No thanks.

The pilot is far from a shoddy vehicle, but the 4Runner is almost untouchable for a mid sized SUV build quality ratings.

Same thing with resale - I haven't checked into the Pilot, but the Runner is amazing with it's resale.

The Pilot did feel a bit roomier inside than the Runner, but not massively.

If you ever do want to go off road with it - you can and not be an idiot.

Biased opinion - The 4Runner just looks better too.

The biggest difference is the 4Runner is truck based, while the Pilot is car based, actually minivan (Odyssey) based. The 4Runner will allow you to tow more and it rides great for a truck based SUV. The Pilot might have a more comfortable third row since the floor is probably lower being minivan based.
