Another "Pink Milkshake"

Avoided :)

First- Thanks to my wife's x-boyfriend who told me about the problem. He had a 98 that was recently killed by the dreaded milkshake. By "killed"- he said it wasn't worth the cost of fixing!
Secondly- Thanks to all who contribute to this forum. I've gained a lot of great information and have recently been tackling basic maintenance stuff. Along with the radiator swap, I replaced the tranny fluid, coolant, oil & filter, lubed the driveshaft and replaced the fuel filter. I also tackled the dreaded air filter and brake pedal cover;) and installed a scan guage. Decided to have the stealer do the diffs, transfer case and adjust the rear brakes though.

Nice job - I too am just getting started on wrenching more serious stuff. And, I'll probably also have the Stealer do a few things. Sounds like you did the best bang-for-the-buck things.

Looking at a few hundred bucks in maintenance after Xmas. Plan on doing the LBJ, radiator, trans cooler, and filters.

Did you do the Koyo replacement?

Yeah, I got the TYC/Koyo off amazon. It was surprisingly easy to swap out. I was considering just bypassing with a trans cooler but it gets pretty cold up here in the great white north. Cheers
