Another proud New Owner of a 1997 Limited 4Runner

Scroed this just last week for $2,200 guy wanted $2,450 but it had a bad miss due to the spark plugs and wires so i got it for $2,200 The motor has
252k miles on it but runs great dosent leak anything no cell lights on or nothing 4wd works great only thing wrong with it is the insides worn out pretty bad and some mad girlfrind keyed the paint pretty bad as well as the window as seen in the pics below.

I added the brush guard. and plan to do a 3" suspension asap and get some bigger tires and new rims

$2,200??? you got a great deal! not in too bad of shape. did you ask what maintenance he's done to it? how much work do you have ahead of you?

The guy who sold it to me was a bail bonds men he had quite a few others trucks/cars for sale i think this was something he got for bonding some one out of jail. Thats why i got it so cheap i dont even think he did any work to it just sold it to me the way he got it.

Only thing i know that would need fixing now is probly the shocks cause it makes quite about off noise when i hit small pot holes and such. I jacked it up and pulled on the wheels everything was tight so im figerd its the shocks since there the originals still on it. I did have to change both reals seals and i silconed the punkin cause it was leaking as well but it was pretty easy stuff.

Im not sure when the timming belt was changed i figerd its probly never been done which i could do it my self once it warms up outside.

You can get that glass replaced for $180 in California. Less if you will accept green glass.

From what i could put togather that this was owned by a black dude cause it smelt like black and milds and the center consol arm rest was all smashed in from wher he leaned on it when he was driveing. The gangster lean. So i think he cheated on his woman and she took it out on the innocent helpless
4runner. The sratchs dosent look like the normal arkansas pinstriping that u see on most off roaders around here.

As far as the scratches go, my dad owns a small used car dealership here. A few years ago two kids came buy one night and keyed a bunch of cars. I was able to go in and wet sand most of the scratches out of them. It's tedious but well worth it. Just have to go easy with it, keep it really wet and then polish it back to a shine. There are kits for polishing out the glass too but I've never had any luck cutting the glass enough to get the scratches out.
