another question about tundar spring lift. lol sorry

sorry guys for another lift question, im a lil confused. i recently picked up a set of tundra struts and coils from a buddy that works at a junk yard. he is telling me that it was a trd package but the struts are blue tokico and the springs are green/green and blue/blue off a 2003 model. also can i use the stock tundra struts on my 3rd gen 4runner or do i have to get new struts? any input on the colr code on the springs and struts would be very helpful. thanks alot

You need the yellow/yellow yellow/blue springs. You can try the ones you have, but they most likely will not be progressive rate. Was it off a 4wd or 2wd? I would suggest not using them and finding the right ones. A member put different colored coils and got negative lift.

You can use the stock Tundra struts with the Tundra coils, but not with the 4runner coils. Also you need to use the 4runner top plates instead of the Tundra top plates.

If you wait till tonight or tomorrow I will have a detailed and in-depth thread about the Tundra lift that should answer a lot of questions and give you a better idea.

in not sure if it was 4whl or 2whl drive. so are all the different year tundra trd springs progressive rate or only the yellow blue color combo? negative lift as in the wheel camber of hieght of vehicle? thanks so much for your help. if you could post that lift info that would be great.

alright just spoke to my buddy at salvage yard and he said the truck is an 03 trd 4wd that i got the suspension from. i thought the trd trucks had bilstiens and the yellow blue springs. lol now im really confused

All TRD springs are progressive, but the y/y y/b are the ones you want. There are also the double cab trd springs, but I've heard they are too stiff, to handle the extra weight of the double cab. I'm not 100% sure about the DC as most people stay clear of them.

He lost height after putting the Tundra's in. The stock TRD shocks were the yellow and blue Bilsteins. So I'm not sure what is going on.

Yeah that is your issue. The DC's had different coils for the extra weight. You could try them out, but I heard they are stiffer than the y/y y/b and I'm not sure about the amount of lift.

Thundera is a planet featured in the storyline from Thundercats, a totally awesome 80s animated series. It is the home planet of the Thundercats.

I don't think they had coil springs.
