I've ordered a 2.5/1.5 Daystar leveling kit for my 4runner, and now I need new rims and tires. I'm going to go with 18 inch rockstars and the 265/65/18. What offset do I need to get for the tires to be flush with the side of the truck?
im not exactly sure what exact offset would push the tire out and make it perfectly flush with the outside of the fender but i would think an 8" wide rim with zero offset or 4" backspacing will get you close. if you can't find the rim offset you need just get some spidertrax wheel spacers, there's some cheaper versions aswell if you don;t like spidertrax prices the 1.25" spacers or the 1.5" spacers should work for you. another way to find out is put your stock tire on and take a tape measure and meassure from the outside of the tire to the outside of the fender you can use a level by holding the level vertical against your fender and meassuring the distance from the level to to tire. what ever measurement you get would be your "offset from center of tire" measurement to order the rims you'll need to know what Backspacing measurement to call out. (i.e backspacing is the distance from the back for the rim edge to the hub face) and 8" wide rim with zero offset would be an 8" wide rim with a
4" backspacing
