Another Rotor Question

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how much a new pair of brake pads will shave off the rotors during the life time of the pad, .02mm, .05mm, 1mm?

Thanks

That is impossible to answer. You can narrow down to some answers if you control variables such as duty cycle, rotor material, pad material, some others and then run empirical tests…

How many licks to the center of a tootsie pop?

Yeah I know there are a lot of variables such as driving habits and break pad types and so on. I should have mentioned that I’m asking about the stock OEM rotors and break pads. Anyway I was hoping someone might have measured wear on their own rotors. It would be at least give me a ballpark figure on how long my current rotors are good for. I have a little more than 18mm and the replacement minimum is 16mm. I figured they are good for at least one more set of pads, maybe two.

I have a 2014 LE with 58K on the clock with original rotors and pads, I probably have close to 5 mm left on the pad and the rotors barely look worn. These are probably 90% hwy with light towing maybe 2X a year.
