Another Tire/Lift Q?

Yeah, I searched and read tons of posts first because I know how much everyone loves these questions. I'm a newbie here with an '05 limited v8 and X-REAS that came with OME884 Front Coil Springs and OME895 in the rear. I just put on a set of 285/70/17's and trimmed the inner fender well as I expected. It looks like I may need spacers since I'm real close to rubbing the UCR, is the consensus that it's a good idea to go right to the spacers? In anticipation of the question - yes, this will be taken off road.

Spacers will help with the control arm issue but will make rubbing on the fenders worse. Be prepared for some more trim work depending on how much lift you got out of those coils. My 265/70/17s required trimming the mud flaps and moving the fender liner with a 1.5" lift up front after spidertrax were installed. I still have minimal clearance, 285's will need more.

Thanks Curt, I've done some trimming and have used spacers on other trucks and am trying to avoid them this time around. 'll be taking a look tomorrow while doing some armor - sliders, gas tank skid, etc. Wondering if anyone's trimmed the UCA?

Or you could try running some FJC wheels (and I believe 5th gen wheels too) to get some extra space between the UCA and tire.
