another trans question but a lil different

Mine bumps into drive, reverse is fine and smooth. Drive isn't violent but it does bump. When I replaced my radiator I lost a little fluid, maybe 5-6 oz. I topped it off afterward with some Lucas Oil trans fluid conditioner but like I said I only added about 5 oz. or so. The bottle says add 12 oz. Has anyone tried this stuff? I've heard it works wonders but I can't tell much difference. It's supposed to help clean valve the valve bodies and solenoids...and what causes the bump, no slip, just bump...

Mine does thud a little bit too, which usually means the transmission mounts are going bad. If it is not the mounts, than it is something pretty expensive but it is a small possibility that it is not the mount.

I agree with the trans or engine mounts.Have someone inside hold the brake and put it in gear and you check the engine and see if it twist off the mount.Same thing with the trans just don't lay under it to see it.You may have to give it a little throttle to see it .You may also want to check your driveline ujoints and rear axle for excessive movement.It's probably the mounts just trying to suggest other items you could check

I don't know. Everything seems tight. But also, I forgot to mention that I shift out of 2nd into 3rd way too soon. If I am under a load as in lots of peddle or up a hill it runs through 2nd just fine. Otherwise it shifts right out of 2nd...this could be effecting my mileage and power I think...

For the first problem, are you sure it's a transmission thing, or maybe a driveline thing?
For the second, does your truck have a shift switch (like NORMAL/POWER) ?

And third, it would help a lot if you included info on your truck in your post, like what year, engine, trans, etc. Not everyone that reads it knows that
