I know I might need to go a Little darker but wanted to check on the stock bulb output first that way I will know how far dark I can go.

Sorry..the 4runner is very dirty didn't take a wash this weekend and it was raining yesterday .

Looks good. I'd do the bumper reflectors also.

JAC what type of exhaust tip do you have on there?

Other shots at night... I think the output is fairly good so I imagine with LEDs should be better.

Personally I like the looks of it better with the whole lens tinted, including the reverse light portion.. but it still looks pretty good

Just to let you know, Tinting your taillights is illegal and if someone happend to rear-end you (their fault) they could sue you successfully because you have modified your taillights and therefore your brakelights are no longer D.O.T approved.

Just thought I'd let you know. looks cool yes, but to me, not worth the risk.

Thanks for the advice..but this is just something for now..until I can get the ones I want.
Now...as far as I know in Indiana it only specifies that the light output must be so bright from the brake lights and there must be two red reflectors (I also have my THIRD brakelight). And is just curious that I was running around a lot today in and out even went several times downtown... more than 5 cops were behind me at different times in the afternoon and evening and stayed for more than 5 minutes behind me and none said a word. I live in the motor speedway area and about 10 min from downtown Indy.... today the Colts were playing at home so there were lots of Cops around. I thought I was going to be stopped but it didn't happen.

Thanks again for the advice.....I appreciate it

I was going to do it that way but was affraid not to get the enough output for the backup...so decided to live it clear . If I decide to buy an auxiliary set of backup lights I migh blackout the tailights completely...But I just wanted to be on the safe side.

once again, looks good!
i like it.
and i like how you left the reverse lights clear.
props!

Thanks Chris....I wanted tho black them out completely but like I said...wasn't for sure if It was going to give me enough light output ...so....I just played safe with that one. And I think it looks good like that...

Thanks for the compliment

That Idea is been running around in my mind ...also the front turn signals...but not sure about it...

The exhaust tip is an 3A Racing...it was chrome and I just painted it.

Thanks ...I definitely want to get rid of that Dealer sticker ...

i find tail light tinting to be anti-functional in every way. engineers spent a lot of time getting the lighting perfected and you're making it less bright which raises a safety concern.

i don't think it looks good either.

looking good.. did you use paint or tint? how did you do that cutoff on your reverse light?

I paint with VHT NITE-SHADE and just put some tape on that area before painting.

Should I go a little darker???.......I think I should put another coat....the output is good

"""engineers spent a lot of time getting the lighting perfected and you're making it less bright""

Well...I worked very hard to pay $$$$ for her so I can do as I please as long as I dont brake the Law. Obviusly the tinted is for looks only ; and of course some people are going to like it and some people wont. About the safety it has a very good output on the bulbs so if someone rearend me is because they are blind , to old to be driving , drunk or simply dont know how to drive.

I am sorry that u don't like it but well...is my truck... ; )~~~ hum!....lol
