Another vibration thread.

So I've got this vibration that I've been living with that is slowly driving me nuts.

It feels like an unbalanced wheel while I'm on the freeway but the problem is that it comes and goes randomly. I've even had the wheels rebalanced and yet it remains. Am i looking at a control arm or tie rod issue here?

You sure aren't giving us much to go on there. Is it in the front or rear? Can you feel it in the floor or seat or steering wheel? Basic questions to try and help.

The vibration is coming through the steering wheel, just like an unbalanced wheel. So I'm assuming it has to be coming from the front wheels or suspension components.

I had the problem with my truck, chased it around, got multiple wheel balances even alignments. It turned out to be a wheel bearing. It started a little vibration long before it started making noise. When I started hearing wheel bearing noise I changed my wheel bearing, and I lost the vibration for about 3 years. It is just starting to come back, so I figure my other bearing is on its way out.
Jack up the front of your truck and wiggle the wheels up and down, see if you can find any play in either of them.

Put those details in your signature. Yes it matters because other readers years down the road will be able to know. Plus, if you had a v8 with lots of miles like me and wanted a vibration free truck I'd tell you what i did.

It drove me crazy too, i almost bought wheel bearings till one day i went under the truck and pulled and yanked and touched everything that was suspension related. When i got to the cv axle i pushed and pulled the outer part that went into the hub. Low and behold it moved and wiggled. I was like mother effer.

I got two new oem axles from a member here years ago for 180 a pair. Stocking them for a rainy day. Well the day it came,i was so happy.

Swapped them out and it was bliss ever since. If you search my posts somewhere out there in t4r world is a link to a video i had on the movement of the axle. BTW getting rebuilt used ones
Probably will not fix it.

New ones will.

I had a similar vibration on my front end. Would come and go, i took my wheels off and torqued everything that i could. Discovered this.
