Another Window Tinting option

There have been a lot of posts about window tinting, so I thought I would share my setup. The fronts are 35% and the rears are 50% over factory glass. I know the fronts don't match the back, but at least it is legal (already paid an illegal tint fine before). The windows are quite a bit darker than factory and not so dark that you cannot see out at night. Let me know what you think!

you actually got a fine? I've heard alot of people just get a warning. What state were you in? I just got mine done and I know they are illegal, hoping I wont get snagged (knock on wood)

Too light for my taste, but being legal is always good.

Definitely a good option for someone who wants a little more privacy and heat reduction.

I think if I got fed up with my tint, the lightest I would go is 20%. I had 35% at one point, and it's just too light.

Any tint is better than no tint in my book though, so good job!

Yeah I sure did get a fine. A Lexington, KY cop pulled me over for speeding (8over, you believe that?) let me off on the speeding charge and wrote a ticket for "Excessive window tint." He did tell me that if I removed it I wouldn't have to pay the fine, but I would have to pay court costs. I confidently told him that I would pay the fine and leave the tint on. At the time I was driving a black Mustang GT Convertible with 20% tints - 20%, not limo, not double limo, 20% and I got a ticket.:rockthrow:

I have heard of people getting pulled over for window tint around here too, although I'm not sure if they were ticketed.

Your tint looks great! Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it?

I have been thinking about trying this myself but I'm afraid I will screw it up badly.

I had a local tint shop do the work. FYI they used FormulaONE Pinnacle series ceramic tint and I believe it is warranted nationwide for the life of the vehicle.

Nice, Formula One is one of the best brands of window tint available. It's what I have on my truck.

I think the car had more to do with you being pulled over. I have had 20% on my fronts for about 3 years now and 35% is legal in Massachusetts...I have never been pulled over for it.

70% is legal in CA, which is clear. I have been pulled over twice in two years, but both times was when I still had 20% over 5% in the front. I now only have 5% in the front and have had no problems *knock on wood*.

One of the times I was pulled over was for speeding. The cop was in an unmarked SUV and tailgating me, then pulled me over for trying to get him off my ass. He let me go with a warning for speeding (wtf?) but gave me a ticket for the tint.

You can still see through 5% from the outside on a bright day, but my back windows are black and cannot be seen into because they are darker than limo.
