Answer me this (FJ RIMS )

If I would to put a set of FJ rims on my 4R , would they be more or less likely to rub on something . They have a different offset / back space and stick out further. I am running larger tires 265/70/17's .

or would I need to put my 1" leveling kit in ? would that make it more prone to rub or not ?

Even Steven did this to his truck , but he has stock size tires so I'm not sure if the FJ rims would give more or less clearance with the 1" bigger tires .

My new tires will be same up sized tires , but maybe a more squared off shoulder , like the BFG AT or GYW SA.

My BF Goodrich All Terrain TAs came in today. I am very happy with them so far. I'm surprised how nice they handle on road so far. They have a sturdy feel and I can tell they handle potholes like nothing. At absolute full turn the inner tread barely touched a flexible piece of plastic in on the rear part of the front wheel housing - pushed the plastic in gently with one finger and no rubbing.

i dont have 70's on my fj wheels , but i can shed some light. the fj's provide an extra 15mm clearance on the inside because of the difference in offset from a stock 4r wheel. according to R104, who posted the above comment, the rubbing with stock 4r wheels was minimal and on the inside. Therefore the numerically lower offset the fj wheel provides moves the tire away from this area. it will be perfect for you.

Thanks rook , I've been searching for a new set of take offs , no luck yet . I'm very skeptical about ebay so trying to find local if possible. Dealer has some , but they want gold plated prices .

I saw that but I dont want tires or pay the price to ship them with tires , also don't need sensors , but his price is more than fair ( good deal actually for what your getting ) . If I lived near him I would buy them in a heartbeat.

Falls, with no lift, 265/70-17 Revo's (new, no wear), and FJ wheels, I had minor rubbing of tire on the mudflap. It was really very minor. It went away with the lift.

I'm only going to do a 1" front level kit. I already have 265/70/17 Revos . I never had even the slightest rub with stock rims , so hopefully not with the FJ's either.

Thanks Thai , I'm still looking for them , there are quite a few of them out there , some pretty beat up. Kinda being picky , since I would rather be the one to beat them up off road .....lol. I'll hit this guy up and see what he say's. Alot of people don't want to mess with shipping if they don't have to.

I had my rims shipped for $100 or so. Basically, i had Discount Tire Co. mail it for me. You may want to ask the seller to do this.
