I have a 98 4 runner with the antenna problem. I have followed the instructions for the mast replacement. I did remove the broken off piece inside the drum. The motor on the mast only runs up or down for a couple of seconds. I hear a click in the dash where the radio is when it does this. So the antenna never goes all the way up or down. The motor runs the same amount of time with the mast in or out. I have taken the antenna completly out and still only get a couple of seconds of run time. Any ideas this is driving me crazy.
