I currently drive a 97 4Runner, and two of the things I've learned with it--minimize external "stick-ons" and external GPS antennas are the BEST--are driving this inquiry as I seriously contemplate getting a new 07 model. I'll be adding the GPS and satellite antennas myself later on, and figure this would be a very clean install on a white vehicle (for now my preferred color). I was hoping someone had been down this road before...

My question is 'why' ? Why go through all the extra install work when noone can see the antenna on the roof anyway? Is there a problem in your area with people stealing them or something?

I'm 6'4" and can see the top of my roof (of course a lift would fix that).
2. Yeah, security is part of it; no need to addtionally advertise pricey electronic equipment inside.
3. IMHO, too easy to catch something on and have them ripped off. Plus they're just something else I have to detail around when I wax.
