Antifreeze smell

I have been noticing an antifreeze smell coming from my truck. This usually happens after the truck has been sitting around warming up for a while. I have had the water pump and thermostat replaced about 10k ago. There are no visual signs of antifreeze leaking from any where at least not that I can find. My antifreeze level seems to be holding so if it is a leak I can't see it. Has this happened to anyone or does anyone have any ideas why I'm smelling antifreeze? Thanks in advance.

I may have the answer

I had the same issue. Like I said before, my truck was free but it came with it's issues. One of the issues was upper radiator hose, thermostat and water pump and a anti-freeze smell. Everything was changed but the smell was still there. When I had my knock sensors replaced, the intake came off. Then the mechanic took pictures. the entire top part of the block was filled with anti-freeze, hence, the knock sensors and harness were submerged and shorted out. Seems the gaskets were completely gone and the anti-freeze was just leaking into the top of the block and when it heated up, I think, the smell was coming from the gaps where the intake gaskets were no longer. You may want to check it out. The gasket kits are cheap. But the knock sensors are not, like $180 ea from dealer and the harness is another $40 or so.
I am serious when I say, " the gaskets were completely gone"!
It's worth checking into to.

So how do I go about finding this one out? Do I bring it to the mechanic and have him do a pressure test? Does this also mean coolant is leaking into the crankcase? I actually had this happen to my POS Blazer and ended up blowing the crank bearings and thus getting a new engine. Don't want to go down that route again.

Not sure about the coolant getting into the crank case. I don't really see how it could get down there from the top of the motor.
If you are comfortable doing it yourself, just pull of the plenum and intake and check it out.
