Any advice for sagging rear end?

Hey Gang. I have a 97 4runner and the rear end is starting to sag and get soft. Any advice on how to repair it? I'm sure others out there have had the similar problems. My suspension is all stock. New springs? Shocks? thanks guys

May want to consider the Air Lift 1000 suspension. It's an air bladder that's inserted into the rear shock and can be adjusted to meet your needs. Air shocks could also solve your problem and are also adjustable. But, the bladder is only around $80.

Change your rear coils to Old Man Emu. I gained 2" on the OME 891. I heard you can get 3" of lift off the OME 892.

I also changed to OME shocks on the back, look at my avatar to see how much lift I got. :-)

Thanks guys. Put in air shocks and they rock. Awesome mod. Can adjust to load and trailer but still has a good ride.

Gor the same price of a spacer, you can get OME 892s and you will get 2.5" lift.

Good Luck.

What if you don't want to lift your 4R? What if you just want to return it too stock?

I think I've got a case of the SAGS, sagging rear end

I apologize in advance for the puns but...

What do you guys think of my rear end?

I've seen a few other Black Rippers (4Runners) around town and notice they have a stronger, more healthy looking stance to them. There is no extra weight in the vehicle in this picture, but I've used this beast to haul music equipment for years.

I'm doing a few things to the front to help with stability (upgrade sway bars, new lower control arms) but I'm wondering if the next item of attention will be shocks/suspension and struts.

Any advice or links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks team.
