Any dating tips?

Don't be a creep, don't be a douche, don't be a perv! If you can accomplish that... you just might get a second date.

on a separate note, I work with a guy who has it figured out. Just buy a Ferrari and toss the keys like an a**hole onto every bar you sit down at and see what happens.

I guess for the guy who doesn't have a Ferrari just buy the key on eBay and when out, after plopping the keys on the table, tell them your friend drove tonight.

Alcohol! Not for you, for them. If you drink, dont get drunk. Let the girls drink. Conversations will get easier with the girls loosened up (no pun intended, I am being a gentleman here). Also, go to YouTube and search for pick up lines and how to meet girls. Lots of good stuff and even some good laughs. You will find many of the ladies have a good sense of humor and once you get them to laugh, the door is open to a conversation. Even if you dont get a relationship going or the lady doesnt want to date after speaking with her, at least you are breaking yourself in. Over time, it will get easier for YOU to speak to a lady that you find interesting. And last but not least, be a gentleman - but not a push over. And know when you meet someone if its not going anywhere. Bow out and do it with respect. You will respect yourself better as well.

Wow. My advice: hit it and quit it. And listen to most married guys. They will all tell you to not get married.

You guys resurrected a 6 year old thread .... wow!

Spoiler: Trever eventually got married.
.

LOL!

Did he get her pregnant and stay in the Navy?

As a former squid who attended boot in SD, then did some FRAMP training there back in the day, the thread brought back a lot of memories.

We used to go clubbing down in Tijuana back when it was reasonably safe and a quick wit and a spare twenty was all you needed to get out of tight spots.

IB, MB and Mission Viejo were the hot spots back then.

You guys are dating the wrong women. If you are honest about what you want, and find a woman that's on board with it - it's amazing. I'm very traditional and found a woman who is as well.

She doesn't want to wear the pants, or argue about everything, or prescribe to all the "girl power" bullshit. She wants me to be the man, make the decision and let her be the submissive woman that she wants to be. She and I both belong in the 1950's and it's ****ing amazing. I take care of her, she takes care of me - and I can't imagine being with another woman.

My advice is figure out what you REALLY want, and don't let any peer pressure bullshit dissuade you. Find it and hold on tight.

Lololol where have you been looking to find such a thing? There's got to be a catch.

I got lucky I guess! haha

Trust me they're out there. They are just afraid to admit that they want a traditional relationship because they are ridiculed for not wanting to be a career woman, I can do everything as good as a man - type.

When we first met, our conversation was basically that we were both frustrated with dating because we couldn't find what we REALLY wanted - add a few glasses of wine and bingo - full on conversation of what that looks like.

I'm not saying our type of relationship is for everyone, but it's perfect for us.

The takeaway is be upfront and brutally honest about what you want, what you need and what you cannot tolerate early on. If you two find yourself on the same page - it's pretty freaking awesome.

My advice is try not to think about it and all good things will come to you. What about creating your own dating app? Do you want to know how matching algorithm work? It might be a very profitable investment. Here you can find tips and strategies for development.

Hey dude. It was good meeting you at the meet up last weekend.

This may be a bit of a tangent .

Hmmmm ... advice on where to meet girls. If you are 21 then go to PB and be sure to go to the bars farther east down Garnet than PB Bar & Grill since that's where all the navy bros go.

OK here is the advice I wish I had know at 21/22.

ASSUMING you have BAH then ... (And if you don't then its time to make 2nd class bro)

Go and live in a house or apt in PB or somewhere cool with bars.
* pb
* mission beach
* Adams ave area
* park ave
* north park
* south park

Here is the key: once I got BAH I moved into an apt with a good buddy from the ship. 2 other buddies lived in same complex. Every Friday & sat night was a navy night. This was no good.

Solution: use CL to find a house with other college students that have an open room for rent, not a room for you and a buddy or 2 rooms but just you. The point is to break out of the navy only social circle. Finding a room for $500-$800 should be easy. I have had multiple roommates this way. Never sign a lease, always month to month but say you hate moving.

Once I got out a few years later I finally was brave enough to look for a room in SD just using CL. By then I was in college at Mesa community college and wanted to live with college students. It was SOOo easy to find a room in house with 3 or 4 other students. That is really the key to meeting girls in my opinion, at least here in San Diego.

So in summary: try to live in a house with other college students (state, community whatever)

Since a lot of SD girls REALLY don't want to date guys in navy I suggest you enroll in night school at mesa (where there are tons & tons of girls) and start working on your general Ed. At least then you can say you are a student when you do meet a girl.

Btw Mesa is near free for active duty. You don't have to use the GI bill. The classes are super cheap and you would only need to take 1 night class at a time anyways. Talk to the vets at the vet center or call me. Lastly don't believe that online college crap (national, phoniex etc) - go to a real local college so you can transfer to any college you want even yrs later.
Dude if u have half a brain you should listen to every word this dude wrote. He was right on point with his advice to you
