Any decent books?

Lame thread for a truck forum, I know. But, I'm going home for my last winter break before graduating, and wasn't able to get my summer job back (damned economy), so instead of spending a month wasting time watching TV, I'd rather read a few books.

Problem is, I never know what book to read unless it is recommended to me by anyone else. Anyone have any suggestions on anything decent, or classic favorites?

MILA 18 by Leon Uris

a great true life story of the Jewish resistance during WWII

I have read this book probably 18 times in my life and it never bores me.

Daniel Craig movie came out regarding similar Jewish fight back against overwhelming odds. Title escapes me.

The Kite Runner is a pretty good book too.

I would also suggest Collapse - it is really interesting and there is a lot of cool stuff about ancient cultures and civilizations and how why they failed to make it to present day. I had to read it for an AP class in high school but I loved it

Defiance, is the name of the movie; saw it.....good, but no Shindler's List.
