I gotta mount an FT-857 in my new 2021 TE.
I think a Comet fold-down antenna mount on the rack might work.
I'm not sure about where to run power thru the firewall though.
Any easy grommets where I can pass a #10 wire thru to the battery?

My Limited is a 17 but they are likely similar. I mounted the box of my Icom 2370 under the drivers seat and have the control head mounted in the cubby hole under the radio/nav.
If you check on the firewall there are a couple of about 1 1/2" rubber plugs with unused tips that can be trimmed and wires fished through I seem to recall at least one on each side of the firewall into the passenger compartment. I also ran a ground wire along with the 12v feed to be sure there was no issue with chassis grounding.

I installed my IC-2730A in the rear compartment of my 4th Gen, with the head under the radio. On the 4th gen's there's a good grommet to run through on the drivers side, down low.
